Halifax wins a pair
of games in week 6 now leads the Shooters Fastpitch League
Wins over the
struggling Carl Anthony Trucking and Indian Brook pace Pepperjacks to 1st
place
The Halifax Pepperjacks find themselves in familiar territory,
after finishing first in the regular season last year they are back to top spot
after a pair of wins this week. Halifax won both games of its double header
winning against the slumping Charros and Indian Brook Hawkeyes. The Pepperjacks
now own a 10-2 record and play a double header against White Rock this Thursday
in St. Croix starting at 7pm.
In other league action;
Brookfield Midget
Elks (9) vs. White Rock (5)
The Elks picked up their first win of the season after
beating the Rockies in a seesaw affair. Brad MacKinnon threw for the win for
the Elks while Matt Lytle and Patrick Benedict combined for the loss. Benedict
did hit two homeruns however to pace the Rockies offensively.
Murphy’s Fish and
Chips (7) vs. East Hants Expos (2)
Mitchell Urquhart recorded his first win of the year going 4
1/3 innings while allowing only 1 earned run. Kody Blois recorded the save
throwing 2 2/3 innings, while Mark Turner, Robin Isenor, Shann Singer, Joel
Isenor and Josh Hilton all contributed offensively. Alex Anthony was tagged with the loss Jake
Hopewell pitched in relief. Tyler Williams had two hits for the Expos.
