Harvey was hot at the plate belting two HR’s, while Schofield was dominant recording his 2^nd straight 1 hitter

Offensive Player of the Week: Aaron Harvey

The Shooters Fastpitch League is pleased to announce offensive and defensive player of the week of May 18-25. Aaron Harvey (Carl Anthony Trucking) is this week’s offensive player of the week after belting two homeruns in a 9-6 victory for the Charros on Thursday night. Harvey, a native of Hardwood Lands, also plays with the Senior Men’s East Hants Mastadons and will attend this year’s National Championship in Charlottetown, PEI. Harvey is no stranger to success as he was a member of the 2005 Nova Scotia Canada Games team, a two time silver medalist at the Junior National level, and an All-Canadian at the 2011 Senior Nationals in Fredericton.  Harvey’s two homeruns put his in an early tie for the long ball lead with teammate Bryan Gillis and Tico Morris of Indian Brook.

Defensively Justin Schofield was dominant on the rubber this week for the White Rock Rockies. The hometown product threw a 1 hitter versus the Halifax Pepperjacks allowing only 1 run against. So far this season the burly right hander is 2-0 and has only allowed 2 hits against! Schofield is also spending time with the Toronto Gators which competes predominately in the ISC circuit, the 24 year old has also been short listed for Team Canada and will attend a tryout camp for the Pan American Games next week in Ontario.
