Carl Anthony Trucking only undefeated team in the Shooters’ Fastpitch League

Tim Colburt and Bryan Gillis split the pitching duties as the Carl Anthony Trucking Charros improved to 3-0 in league play with a 9-6 win over the Halifax Pepperjacks Thursday night in Shubie. The Charros were last year’s league champions, and are off to a great start with their potent offence. The Charros will look to make it 4 in a row June 5 in Brookfield at 7pm as they take on the Brookfield Elks.

Carl Anthony Trucking (9) vs. Halifax Pepperjacks (6)
Tim Colburt went 4 1/3 innings on the mound giving up 5 runs in his pitching debut, Gillis came in and gave up 2 runs over 2 2/innings. Rene D’Entremont went the distance for the Pepperjacks which well to (2-1).

Halifax Pepperjacks (1) vs. White Rock Rockies (4)
Halifax fell to (2-2) after a loss in the second game of their double header in Shubie.  Halifax’s Craig Manuel was sharp on the mound, but Rockies ace Justin Schofield was even better giving up just 1 hit over 7 innings of work. The Rockies were led offensively by Patrick Benedict who knocked in 2 RBI’s with a stand-up triple, Tyler MacIssac supplied the lone hit for Halifax.

Indian Brook (11) vs. Brookfield Midget Elks (8)
Indian Brook (1-2) got its first win of the season in a high scoring affair with the Brookfield Elks. Indian Brook pitcher Omar Marr went the distance, while Dylan McCoul and Alexander Rhoddy split duties for the Elks. Tico Morris hit two homeruns to pace Indian Brook.

Stewiacke River Rats (10) vs. Indian Brook (6)
The River Rats moved to (2-1) on the season with a hard fought 10-6 win over the Hawks. Randy Framed upped his pitching record to 2-0 by going the distance for the River Rats. Jay Duffy 3-4 with a HR and Connor Baker helped pace the offence. Travis Nevin was tagged in the loss for Indian Brook which fell to (1-3) despite Scott Sack going 4-4 and Nevin chipping in 3-4 offensively. 

Murphy’s Fish and Chips vs. East Hants Expos  

Murphy’s Fish and Chips improved to (2-1) on the season with a 6-0 win over the East Hants Expos. Kody Blois was sharp on the mound throwing a no-hitter with 10k’s while Mark Turner hit a 2 run shot to left in the 6th to seal the win for Murphy’s. Chris Hopewell and Robin Isenor also both had two hits to help the cause. Cody Anthony was tagged with the loss.
