Turner belts two
homeruns as the Murphy’s Fish and Chips extend winning streak to 3 games,
Charros win to keep perfect record intact

Pitchers beware; Mark Turner is seeing incoming pitches like
they are beach balls, so well in fact he leads the Shooters Fastpitch League
with 3 homeruns all of which have come in the last two games. Turner was the
offensive catalyst as the Murphy’s Fish and Chips (3-1) beat Indian Brook (1-4)
8-3 on Thursday night in front of a lively crowd in Shubie. Turner, who was a
member of the 2001 Nova Scotia Canada Games team, went 3-4 including a pair of
long shots to left field. Murphy’s Fish and Chips are back in action this
Thursday in Shubie at 9pm vs. White Rock.

Outside of Turner’s strong performance Robin Isenor
contributed 3 hits including a couple of sizzling shots up the middle, with
Laurie Isenor also contributing two hits. Travis Nevin, Omar Marr, and Derrick
Nevin helped pace Indian Brook offensively. Kody Blois recorded the win in the
circle for Murphy’s while Travis Nevin and Omar Marr split duties for Indian
Brook.
Halifax Pepperjacks
(9) vs. White Rock (5)
Rene D’Entremont was able to get the win for Halifax (3-2)
despite facing a feisty White Rock team as Craig Manuel came in for relief.
Jonah Wright and Tyler MacIsaac each had a homerun for the Pepperjacks who got
to starter Matt Lyttle. Tyler Whynot was 2-2 for White Rock with a long
homerun, while Patrick Benedict was sharp in relief.
Carl Anthony Trucking
(7) vs. Brookfield Midget Elks (0) 6 innings
The Charros continued their dominant play dispatching the
winless Brookfield Elks (0-3). Led by the pitching of Bryan Gillis, the Charros
improved their record to (4-0). Matt Anthony was 2-3 at the plate. Brookfield’s
Brad MacKinnon was solid on the mound for the Elks.
Stewiacke River Rats
(6) vs. East Hants Expos (2)
Randy Frame upped his record to 3-0 and was dominate
throwing a 1-hitter, his only blemish came to Expos hitter Colby Lanceleave.
Myles Coldwell 3-3 and Patrick Stewart 3-4 paced the River Rats offensively who
improved to (3-1) on the season. Alex Anthony was solid on the mound keeping
the Expos (0-4) in the game.
