Turner, Frame named Prodigy Sports offensive and defensive players of the week

Turner belted two home runs, while Frame threw a 1 hitter en route to his 3rd straight win

 The Shooters Fastpitch League is pleased to announce that Mark Turner and Randy Frame are this week’s (June 1-6) Prodigy Sports offensive and defensive players of the week. Turner who is a member of the Murphy’s Fish and Chips was 3-4 with 2 HR and 3 RBI vs. Indian Brook while Frame was sharp on the mound throwing a 1 hitter vs. The East Hants Expos.

Offensive Player of the Week: Mark Turner


Turner, who was a member of the 2001 Nova Scotia Canada Games team which won a silver, continued his hot streak at the plate he holds the early homerun lead with 3. Turner took Indian Brook starter Travis Nevin deep to left for a two run shot in the 2nd before adding a solo shot off of relief pitcher Owen Marr in the 7th

Honourable Mention: Robin Isenor (Murphy’s) 3-4 2 RBI, Matt Anthony (CAT) 2-3

Defensive Player of the Week: Randy Frame

Defensively Randy Frame takes top honours, the Stewiacke native threw a 1-hitter versus the East Hants Expos as the River Rats went on to take the game 6-2. The win upped Frame’s record to 3-0 in league play and has the Rats sitting in second place. Frame who was a member of the 1997 Nova Scotia Canada Games team has been a mainstay at the Senior National Championships.
