Offence key in Charros perfect run

Deep hitting lineup helps Carl Anthony Trucking to a perfect 6-0 record

The Carl Anthony Trucking Charros are the equivalent to the Toronto Bluejays of the Shooters Fastpitch league. Last year’s league champs are the undisputed long ball team with both Aaron Harvey and Bryan Gillis atop of the league lead in home runs, while a deep hitting lineup has produced large leads for pitchers Bryan Gillis, Tim Colburt, and Matt Anthony. The Charros kept their perfect record alive with a pair of wins this week first a 14-5 dispatching of Indian Brook before a 9-3 win on Friday vs. the East Hants Expos. Here is the week 4 recap.

Carl Anthony Trucking (14) vs. Indian Brook (5)
Bryan Gillis had 10k’s for the Charros who improved to (5-0) on the season. Aaron Harvey, Matt Anthony, Jeff McNeil and Darcy Gillis all hit home runs for the victors. Indian Brook (1-5) pitcher Owen Marr was tagged with the loss.

Murphy’s Fish and Chips (10) vs. White Rock (5)
Offence was predominant in this game as both teams seemed to threaten each inning. Mark Turner continued his home run streak and now has 4 on the season. Robin Isenor, Joel Isenor, and Christian Miller all paced Murphy’s with 2 hits.  Patrick Benedict was tagged with the loss despite having two hits offensively, Curtis Broussard had a home run for the Rockies. Kody Blois picked up the win for Murphy’s.

Halifax Pepperjacks (7) vs. Brookfield Midget Elks (0)
Game details not available, Halifax moves to (4-2) while Brookfield dropped to (0-4)

Stewiacke River Rats (9) vs. Brookfield Midget Elks (2)
Randy Frame kept his perfect record alive, despite giving up a long two run home run to Alexander Rhoddy in the 6th. Jay Duffy and Connor Baker paced the Rats (4-1) offensively.

Carl Anthony Trucking (9) vs. East Hants Expos (3)
Matt Anthony picked up the win for the Charros, who registered his first win of the season. Bryan Gillis, Darcy Gillis, and Luke Anthony all homered for the Charros. Cody and Alex Anthony split the pitching duties for the Expos (0-5) while Tyler Williams was 2-3 at the dish.
